The Kakamega Forest in Western Kenya is one of the last remaining rainforests in Kenya. It has an abundant birdlife, for which it is famous around the world, with many species of birds that can otherwise only be found in Central African forests. |

The blue-headed bee-eater is one of the rarities that can only be found in this forest within Kenya. They breed in wholes near the ground in the middle of the forest, but spend most of their time high in the canopy. |
